The "Sapphire Showers" golden dewdrop (Duranta erecta "Sapphire Showers") adds interest to the landscape with its clusters of bluish-purple, trumpet-shaped flowers. Flowers appear in summer and attract butterflies. Also known as Picotee sky flower or pigeonberry, this fast-growing specimen prefers full sunlight and well-draining, slightly acidic soils. Hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zones 9 through 11, it requires 12 to 15 feet of space to accommodate its mature spread. Pull any weeds growing around or underneath the canopy of the "Sapphire Showers" golden dewdrop. Pick up any debris such as dead leaves, twigs and rocks. Spread a 2- to-4-inch layer of mulch around the base of the plant with a rake. Keep the mulch 4 inches away from the plant's main trunk to prevent the formation of mold or rot. Allow the top 2 to 3 inches of soil to dry before applying water to the shrub. Flood the ground surrounding the plant with water from a garden hose, applying 1 inch of water. Apply the water during the morning hours at a slow rate to avoid splashing the leaves. Never allow the soil to become soggy. Prune the plant in the late winter or early spring while it is dormant. Remove up to one-third of the oldest branches to open up the canopy and increase the air-movement and sunlight penetration through the plant's center. Cut out any broken, dead or diseased branches. Remove any branches that cross or rub against others. Cut back the tips of extremely long or scraggly branches to give the plant a rounded silhouette. Make each cut 1/4 inch above an outward facing lateral branch, growth node or trunk with a pair of pruning shears.Shipping Notes

Our Dog Loves This Ball Thrower So Much

Works excellent for dogs that like to fetch! Our family dog loves this toy. He will bark and jump as soon as he sees us pick it up. The dog next door to us gets excited when he sees us play with our dog with this dog ball thrower. Its that good for dogs who love to fetch and run. Perfect for the young and elderly to play fetch with a pet dog. If you have back or shoulder problems works very well. You don't have to bend down and pick up a slobbery ball. Nope you use this to pick up, grip up and grab the ball. Wish every dog could have this ball thrower in their lives. It has changed the way we play fetch with our dog.

Good Pet Ball Launcher

I bought to throw balls for my Aussie. He does not like to tennis ball that came with it and chewed it up in less than one play time. The launcher seems to be of good quality and works well. We bought different balls made for launchers that work well.

Must-Have for Dog Owners (Whow have dogs that like to fetch)

Soon as this launcher arrived I went outside with the dogs to try it out. Long story short: This is a great fetch toy. I am able to launch the ball pretty far with little to no effort, and picking the ball back up is as easy as grabbing it with my own hand.
The toy itself is very sturdy, so much so this is the only fetch-toy I'll ever have to buy. Considering how durable it is, I don't think I'll ever need to buy a replacement. I believe Chuck-It is the most popular option, and because this is the first fetch-toy I purchased, I can't really compare it to anything else. A few outlier reviews said the ball was difficult to launch, and I have to disagree. It has been so easy to use I can't possibly see what the problem is. And no, upper body strength is not a factor as I virtually have none. People can get great distance (Half the length of a football field by my eye) in one simple, easy motion. And if other products can launch the ball farther, so what? How far is far enough? Is your dog going to throw a fit because it went 40 meters instead of 50? No. They will not. For anyone upset this toy doesn't launch far enough, ask yourself this: Is the toy for their dog? Or the human who bought it?
The bottom line is this: It feels like it's built to last, it's inexpensive, and it does what it is supposed to do. So long as a toy is "good enough" I don't see the point in splitting hairs and trying to determine which fetch toy is the absolute best.
Saying it's good enough is a bit misleading though. I can't imagine how a dog toy like this could be any better.
It's a must-have for any dog owner. Unfortunately, only one of my pups likes to fetch...

Works Like a Charm!
Style: 2.5" Ball
WoW!! This thing is pretty cool! It can pick the ball up off the ground - and with little effort - It can throw the ball 3X Higher and Further than I ever could! It wont hurt my elbow or wrist ( way better than before when I was wearing myself out ) I don’t know how I ever got along without it!! It's a must have if your dog loves playing ball. :-)
Update: I've had this For 7 Months Now- it looks and works Great just like the day I bought it- Thumbs up!

Better Design - Better Materials - No Sticking
Style: 2.5" Ball
Been using Chuck-It launchers and plastic balls for a very long time and they were always a little sticky on giving up the ball. This makes it tricky to throw grounders with precision and can overshoot the fence in the backyard. A couple of years ago, Chuck-It changed the material to a stiffer plastic that made this problem more pronounced. I even tried custom sanding the cup to get just the right grip.
The Fetch-It launcher (using the Chuck-It plastic balls) uses a three-pronged claw with soft rubbery ends that releases perfect every time. The material costs on this new one are noticeably higher while maintaining a somewhat lower price than the brand name original.
